"My family had a wonderful time in OBX and this home was a huge part of it! We are a family of seven, three adults and four children (ages 13, 10, 3 and 2). The kids loved the room with the bunk beds. They all slept in that room all week. The home was big but still felt cozy. The beds were very comfortable. The decks were wonderful and the view was incredible. The pool was just the right size for our family. The environment was so relaxing. We really enjoyed ourselves. This was our first trip to OBX but it definitely won’t be our last!"

"We just returned from our first trip to the outerbanks and being in the 4x4 section was a dream. Our house, Queen of Carova, was a perfect layout for our family of 5 (4 adults, and a 10 year old) and many beds were left unused! We could've had a whole other family with us. The kitchen was well equipped, the pool onsite was perfect. We had one MINOR maintenance issue while there. We called Twiddy after hours and they were onsite to fix it within an hour of opening the next day. Also, most of us suffer severe allergies and we had NO ALLERGIES at this property. Thanks for making our trip spectacular! Can't wait for our next trip back."

"This was our first trip to OBX and it definitely won't be our last! This house was perfect for our family of 8 (5 adults, 3 kids). The kitchen is well stocked - we brought things from home just in case, and never had to use any of it, because anything you could possibly need was already there. We saw horses most days, and when we didn't see them, we found evidence of them daily. (From a horse person, I might suggest leaving a pitch fork under the house so that it's easier to move the poop out into the yard further away from the house. Not the first time I've had to shovel horse poop but this was the first time I've had to do it with an actual shovel LOL) This home is super nice and clean, the furniture and beds were comfy. The decks around the house were great for relaxing outside. The screened in area was great for still being outside during our rainy day on Friday. The pool, though smaller than we expected from the pictures, was adequate for our family. We had a great time in this little slice of paradise on Carova. Literally the only complaint we can think of is maybe a better vacuum in the home - lots of sand that comes in and moves around the floors and the vacuum in this house was mediocre at best in trying to keep the floors cleaner - and that's not even really a compliant, more just a suggestion for the future. 4x4 beaches are now my top vacation choice, we will be back soon! Definitely recommend this house, great location, quick walk or drive down to the beach! Plenty of beach chairs at the house. Twiddy was great to work with - answered all my questions via text promptly. Getting the parking pass for one of our party was simple and airing up tires at the end of our trip was effortless. Such a great experience, will definitely keep renting exclusively through Twiddy for all our OBX trips. While we hope to find an ocean front property for next year's visit, I'm certain we'll be back to Queen of Carova for another trip in the future!"

"Our family of 8 adults and one child enjoyed our stay at Queen of Carova. A previous review was helpful to me on this same subject so I will reiterate: bring with you: paper towels, toilet paper, napkins, kleenex, dish soap, hand soap, laundry soap, dishwasher soap, trash bags, basic cleaner (spray Clorox cleanup), a kitchen sponge, and if you want more than 2 dishtowels, bring those too. There was literally nothing provided to clean ANYTHING. The home was spacious and updated. The location is pretty far up the beach but that wasn't a problem for us. The walk to the beach is pretty easy. The house had pool floats and plenty of beach chairs to bring to the beach. We brought with us a pop up tent for the beach and an umbrella for the poolside to provide shade, both were VERY USEFUL. The water as described by others is well water but wasn't horrible for showering though the water pressure is low. Bring plenty (more than you think you'll need) of drinking water with you for drinking, cooking, and making coffee. We enjoyed our views and saw quite a few horses! I suggest you purchase a beach parking pass from the welcome center ($50) so you can park your vehicle right on the beach. Easy to haul all your stuff to the beach that way."

"This home is beautifully furnished and big enough for us 8 adults. Beds were comfortable, but the bottom of the bunk was a bit small for 2 adults for sure. The frig was small for a weeks worth of food and coolers were needed for overflow. The washer was tripping the breaker and was reported. Overall, the home was great, the weather gorgeous and we made it thru Elsa."

"I gave this a 4 star because really the home is clean and beautiful. Beds are comfortable. We had a beautiful weather week. A few issues we had were 1. The pool had very low water and didn’t look cleaned, and we had to report this to twiddy but was very stressful for the first day until things got squared away. 2. The washing machine looked newer but took a lot of work for us to get it to start, I believe after using it all week there’s something wrong with the start button and it gets stuck. 3. The screened sliding door on the top porch doesn’t fit the door and wouldn’t open/ popped off. The biggest thing I would share is the water smells very bad (I believe this is the entire area because we had the same issue at our hotel) but the water is not drinking water, is tinged a yellow, and smells very strong. Very different than the water we’re used to from home. The fridge filtered water doesn’t work (though the ice machine does). So we ran out of bottled water 1/2 way through our stay, which made the rest of the stay miserable for drinking water. I wish others had left this information in reviews so we could have had more water. I would bring gallons along with bottled. The other advice I would give to other fellow stayers, bring everything from trash bags, bathroom trash bags, bathrooms do not have soap, tissues, or toilet paper.. you need to have everything. Other than wishing we had some extra information before staying (our first stay in OBX) it was a wonderful house and a wonderful stay. The beach is about 3 “blocks” away. Our kids ages 5&8 were able to make the trip, my three year old needed to be carried. We saw so many horses. We used a jeep tour company to drive us in and out, and we were also so thankful for that as we saw many stuck vehicles on our way in. Twiddy has a texting line and they were so helpful throughout our stay."

"What a beautiful home! It was the perfect size for our two families. It's a quick walk or drive out to the beach. Kids enjoyed the pool, taking walks around to look for horses and playing games. The kitchen was well stocked and as someone with food allergies, it was nice to see stainless steel pots and pans! Beds were comfortable and everything was nice and clean when we arrived. Would definitely stay here again!"
