Extraordinary in every way, this seaside retreat is the perfect place for your next vacation, event, or reunion.

Guests will experience the unbridled beauty of Corolla’s unique 4x4 beaches, completely untouched by commerce, and arguably the most naturally breathtaking landscapes of the eastern seaboard. And while this home is secluded in the best way, it also offers a convenient location, less than 2 miles from the paved road, allowing for easy access to the quaint shops and restaurants of Corolla Village.

Interior features have meticulous detail, and serve as an incredible backdrop to any event. With elements such as an aquarium and a spectacular courtyard with a pool, guests will be awed.

In all, the estate offers a beautiful home with two guest wings, and boasts a large media room, bar, dressing room, east and west facing porches, dining area seating over fifty people, and a well-appointed kitchen facility. The third level of the home is private and solely dedicated as a grand suite. A balcony overlooks the courtyard and pool from this floor, and is a truly spectacular place to catch a renowned Outer Banks sunset. From the main house, two wings are connected by enclosed hallways. One wing has 12 master bedrooms, while the other has 11, each amply comfortable and appointed with distinctive accents.

The pool complex, which is the perfect place to sunbathe on a warm day or congregate in the evening, is flanked by the home, making it the epicenter of the estate, and a great place to gather during an event. Just beyond the pool, an expansive covered pavilion lies at the foot of the dunes. This large, open area provides a built-in weather backup plan, eliminating the need for an event tent rental and providing spectacular photo opportunities.

Ever more impressive, "The Chesapeake" features the latest in WiFi technology. With no faster internet on the Outer Banks, new fiber optic WiFi will operate at robust speeds up to 1-gigabit upload and download. Allowing for all of your devices and gaming needs to be met at lightning speeds, making this home the perfect choice for corporate retreats and large events.

Perfect for every occasion, have the stay of a lifetime at “The Chesapeake.”

Approximately 1.8 miles up the beach.

Special Events welcome for no additional fee in 2024. Please contact our office if you would like to make arrangements for a Special Event reservation.

Andrew   ·  Stayed April 2024

"We stayed in The Chesapeake house which is one of Twiddy’s management properties on the 4x4 beach for our wedding and it was simply perfect. The house is obviously stunning, but Twiddy’s attentiveness and service made it so much better. On the day we checked in, they came back a few times when we couldn’t figure out the television and found some dead lightbulbs. Throughout the week, they also came back to fix broken barstools, clean the outdoor bars, and replace broken Keurig machines upon request. ON TOP OF ALL OF THAT, my mom lost her wedding band in the pavilion one night and Twiddy came to the house with a nail sweep and FOUND IT. We were so grateful Twiddy was willing to make the week as perfect as possible."

"The home was spacious and provided us the ability to be together as a group, while still providing privacy within our own rooms. The bar was a central point for all of us in the evenings as we enjoyed having a couple of drinks and dancing the night away."

"This home was very well laid out and provided a great entertainment space for a very large group of people. The pool was done just right with the amount of sun shelves that it had created a great environment."

"The layout of the home is perfect for a special event such as a wedding, family reunion, or just a large group of friends. The pool is resort like, the bar was great to hangout, and the media room was perfect to watch the opening weekend of college football. The compound (because that’s what the Chesapeake is) is well stocked with numerous refrigerators, ice machines, coolers, and everything you need for a trip except maybe some beach chairs. Shuffleboard, cornhole, karaoke machine, dartboard, ping pong table, board games - it has them all. It’s a great option due to the amount of space if you can afford this price point."

"Beautiful home. Bedrooms and bathrooms amazing."

Michelle   ·  Stayed July 2022

"This unique home was a perfect place for our annual family reunion of 54 people. We had plenty of space. We never felt like we were on top of one another. The bar area became our common space. We even had spaces available to house the massage therapy sessions we booked. Each day we watched the horses from the front porch while drinking our coffee. We spent the days at the beach which is a lot closer to the house then it would appear from the aerial photos, very convenient. We would return to the house for lunch and head to the pool for afternoon fun. We had catering and bbqs and never needed to leave the house unless you were itching to drive the beach for a fun ride. The kitchen was everything we needed including the right amount of fridge and freezer space. We used the dinning room for games at night and the theater room for movies. Don’t think twice, book this phenomenal property."

Penelope   ·  Stayed May 2022

"The home was absolutely gorgeous with plenty of space to have our wedding with around 60 guests. The house does need some minor maintenance such as light switches not working, the shade in the master is missing, and most of the bathroom showers tile is starting to fall apart. But again these were very minor issues that did not by any means take away from our experience. Also if you are planning to heat the pool do not expect it to get that warm depending on the weather. It was never very warm throughout the stay. Overall, we loved the house and everyone enjoyed their stay."

"The home was absolutely gorgeous"

Deanna   ·  Stayed June 2021

"We stayed at this home for a week with about 35 friends and family members. We were not having a wedding or an event so I can't speak to that, we only used the home as a vacation home. First off, it's HUGE. Everyone enjoyed that we had space to sprawl out. We loved the private decks, the sleeper sofas for the kids and the two super cool bunk rooms (although they should really consider putting rails on the top bunks). The theater room was beautiful and comfortable and the bar, foosball table and ping pong table were a huge hit. I don't even need to touch on the pool, you can tell from the photos — it's amazing. It has a very shallow end that was perfect for children. We also saw tons of horses, dolphins and turtles. Our kids loved every minute. The commercial kitchen is also incredible. So well stocked — there were at least 50 mixing bowls in the kitchen, tons of refrigerator space (there is also large fridge in the basement that I didn't see mentioned in the description), and more plates, glasses and utensils than we knew what to do with. My only recommendation for the kitchen would be to include more "commercial" utensils. There were only 2 spatulas and they were both tiny so reaching across a large gas stove was a pain (literally). Of course kitchen utensils can change but if I rented this house again, I'd grab some long-handled spatulas and tongs off Amazon. For our group there were a few negatives. First, this home is designed especially for events. Which is great! But that meant that the living room is dinky and we never used it — it doesn't even have a TV. There also aren't a lot of small gathering areas like we've experienced in other houses of this size. This wasn't a huge deal because we had great weather and basically stayed outside all week. It's just something we noticed. We survived. The second negative was that this home was really not handicap friendly. We have one wheel-chair bound individual in our group and one individual who cannot navigate stairs. There is no ramp access to this home and once someone is in the home, getting around via wheelchair is cumbersome. There is a lavish honeymoon suite on the third floor of the main building but the elevator doesn't go to that floor so there was no room that we could give our limited mobility guest that would keep them from having to walk so far. Again, we managed but it's something to consider if you have handicapped individuals in your party. The last negative is the doorknobs. It sounds silly but whomever manufactured those things needs to be beaten with a stick. They are poorly shaped, hurt your hands to turn and it took us a few days of being in the home before everyone got used to them and stopped calling for help (pull the doorknob towards you while twisting with both hands). I couldn't imagine someone with arthritis being able to use them at all. Maybe they're super durable doorknobs that don't corrode in the sea-salt air? Whatever they were, they sucked. Even with the small negatives, we had a great time at the Chesapeake, we'd go back again in a heartbeat. Thanks for a great week!"

"We hosted our son’s wedding at The Chesapeake. The venue couldn’t have been more perfect. The space inside and out was thoughtfully designed to host our families for an intimate wedding with about 60 guest. Every single one of our guests—including us—loved the location, the property, all of the amenities, and the attentive service. Local vendors were terrific to work with too!"
