"This home is amazing lots of room for a multi family vacation. House is on a dead end street so limited traffic except for people turing around. The elevator is very nice touch to help go from first to the third floor. Had multiple horses daily in the yard. Amazing views. The kitchen is large and spacious for cooking for a large group. Two grills to make grilling for a large group possible. Everything you could need for kitchen appliances. Enjoyed by the whole group, with being not to many neighbors beach is not crowded in the area of the house."

"we loved the house, it was very nice and clean, the house was ready exactly at 4:00, the owner was on top of everything, he answered all my questions, and he sent people to the house to fix anything we needed, there was plenty of rooms for 50 people, and there was games everywhere for everyone and all the ages, the pool and the hot tub were clean, and the maintenance people came in the middle of the week to put chlorine in it, there was a good amount of chairs for the beach, we really loved everything in the house and we definitely would love to be back again!!"

"It is a great house in the perfect location. The owner has 10 acres so excellent place especially on the beach, it is like you are there by your self's. The owner has done a lot of upgrades on the house. We only had one issue, with the internet connection. Twiddy was not helpful. The owner called me directly about the issue and they are in the process of upgrading this so I don't expect it to be a problem going forward. Everything is so organized. Especially the kitchen. Very well organized and plenty of everything you need. Basically 2 of everything and more on 1st and 2nd floor as well. Lots of recent upgrades have made the house even better. The upgrades on plumbing, flooring etc are fantastic. All great improvements. With 17 bedrooms there is plenty of space for large multi-families and plenty of recreational activities in the house as well. The pool is larger than most of the homes we have rented. Grills etc, all in working order, we didn't have any issues with anything. And if the wild horses and wild life is what you are looking for we had plenty every day!"

"We have been renting a home from Twiddy in the 4x4 area for the last 11 years. For the past 5 years we have rented this home (formally known as Sand Break, now Lucky Penny). The property has several great features including an amazing view from the upper floor, excellent privacy especially for the pool, large lot, good access, a kitchen that works well for large groups, as well as the typical amenities you would expect for a house of this size. With the new ownership this year there have been significant improvements to the house. All new decking, two new hot tubs, new grills, additional concrete pad, and several upgrades and repairs inside the home. We are all very pleased with the way the house has been improved. The new owners seem committed to caring for the property. We are already booked for next year and look forward to staying at Lucky Penny for many, many more years. For a large group staying in the 4wd area, we would highly recommend Lucky Penny."

"The place was pretty nice, fit our group well and we had some great times there. The outer banks is a beautiful place. Most of the beds were comfortable. There were a few issues with the house. Several plumbing problems including clogging toilets and poor drainage to go along with yellow well water. None of the TVs on the second floor work. One of the washing machines didn’t work and the grills weren’t really in a usable condition. I’m sure the new owners plan on doing some renovations to it soon. All in all the house was great and Twiddy tried to solve any issues they could while 30 people were staying there. We will certainly miss the place , the pool was great and the theatre was a hit. I would recommend the place just don’t expect it to be perfect."

"Sand break was a beautiful home for our families to gather in to celebrate our parents 60th anniversary. The home was spacious enough for 38 of us to spend the week together without falling over each other. The kitchen/dining was amazing to be able to feed the crowd all week. The sleeping arrangements worked well with all the families. Another bunk room would have been helpful. The beach was amazing and the horses visited everyday!!!"

"Overall we had a good time - but there where some issues with the house and there are a number of things that need to be updated. There were 3 ice machines in the house and 1 in the cabana and the only one that worked was the outside one in the cabana - so we had to keep refilling the upstairs refrigerators with the ice from the cabana. The TV's on the second floor did not work at all. We lost power to 3 of the bedrooms on the first floor for the last 2 days. The smoke detectors went off every 10 minutes throughout the house for 2 nights while we were trying to sleep. The water was discolored and smelled bad and we kept running out of hot water in the showers. One of the gas grills caught on fire due the grease and age of the grill. We did call and they sent someone out that took the bad grill but never came back with a new one. They also sent someone who came out for the ice machines and said that the 2 refrigerators on the top floor needed to be fixed but never were and the ice machine on the first floor wasn't plugged in, but even after plugging it in it did not work. If the issues would have been dealt with and fixed immediately, our vacation would have been a 10 out of 10. We did make the best of it though."

"Pros- Exclusive memorable view from top and second floor, great dining area. and wonderful privacy. Amazing view of sunrise and sunset. Cons- home theater equipment outdated ( we couldn't use it) , grill out dated/ in poor condition( needs to be updated). Pool / table tennis/ foosball equipment needs repairs or replacement. poolside bar and area was unusable. Hot tub works but could use an update to match such an amazing location. Our group had an awesome time."

"Sand Break is dated but doable for a large group. The layout of the home is wonderful. Unfortunately, a number of things are ragged or broken."
