"We loved the feel of the home and how organized it was."

Ronald   ·  Stayed August 2024

"We enjoyed the house. One concern was the balance of air conditioning from room to room and level to level. Second concern related to the top level refrigerators….where some fruit and vegetables were frozen. However, we enjoyed the house and will consider it again. PS The property sign in the front was knocked down by the trash trucks on pickup day!!"

"The house was very clean, comfortable, and easily accommodated 19 guests on our trip. Each bedroom having a separate bathroom was convenient, and the kitchen comes stocked with two ovens, sinks, refrigerators, and dishwashers which made cooking/cleaning for a large group easy. The outdoor areas are well maintained and the house has endless amenities to keep the group entertained all week."

"Our stay at Mariner's Lookout in May was the trip of a lifetime! We traveled with extended family, including small children, and every aspect of our experience exceeded expectations. The house was incredibly organized, with every detail thoughtfully considered. The kitchen was a chef’s dream! It was the most well-equipped rental kitchen I've ever experienced, complete with labeled drawers which made it easy to find any tool we needed (as well as put it away!). Other thoughtful touches made our stay easy, including, but not limited to, outlets in the bunk beds, plenty of smart TVs, comfortable beds with lovely bedding, full laundry room (complete with laundry baskets), and house guide, which made managing our family's needs effortless. The location is perfect, offering a spectacular oceanfront view and beach access while being conveniently close to various activities for the kids. For parents of two small children, it was extremely easy to go from beach time to nap time and back again. The screened in porch made for a lovely place to eat breakfast every morning. We loved the nearby playground, mini-golf, and the charming Duck Boardwalk. Grocery stores were just a short drive away (and even walkable if you enjoy a longer walk). In truth, we found little reason to leave the house, as it was so well-appointed and comfortable. The hosts truly went above and beyond to ensure our stay was memorable, including a surprise delivery of delicious local pies. They clearly put a lot of love and care into the property. The spacious living areas, coupled with the fun game room, awesome movie room, hot tub, and pool, provided entertainment for all ages. It’s clear that the hosts put a lot of thought into creating a welcoming and relaxing environment. We can’t recommend Mariner's Lookout highly enough and look forward to returning in the future!"

"This is our 4th time at Mariners Lookout. We love everything about it."

Jay   ·  Stayed April 2024

"The best part about the home that we rented is the family that owns it. We have been renting homes from them for 5 or 6 years now. We always are welcomed with 3 delicious pies from Tommy’s. We also had a generous gift certificate to our favorite breakfast place Lighthouse Bagels. The house has everything that you need. We always feel at home."

"One of the most well appointed homes I have had the pleasure of staying in…we have typically stayed in Duck but last year stayed in Corolla. We returned to Corolla this year and chose Mariners Lookout…just spectacular. Organized kitchen …beautifully decorated. Would HIGHLY recommend this home…and complimentary baked pies were delicious!!!"

"This home has a perfect layout and plenty of room for a large family. It was without a doubt the most well equipped house we have ever rented. The photo's in the guest book and the fact that everything from the lights to where things are to be returned had labels was a big help"

"I've been coming to the OBX for over 30 years with my family and this was BY FAR our favorite house we've ever stayed at. Would definitely book again for next year if it wasn't already booked for our time frame. Also, we have tried a few other realtors over the years because a house we wanted was through them. We learned our lesson every time. We will never use anyone besides Twiddy again, they really are the best!"

"Great location! House was very spacious and had a large front yard where we played corn hole. Pool area and hot tub were amazing. Beach area was really nice. The house had plenty of room and loved the fact most bedrooms had their own bath. Fantastic kitchen. We had 22 and had plenty of room. Would definitely go back!"

"It is the perfect home for our large group. The layout gives almost all an ocean view. The decor is lovely, updated. The kitchen is organized and includes every need. The maintenance of the property is outstanding. Very clean!"

"Mariner's Lookout was amazing! The home if very thoughtfully furnished. The kitchen was fully stocked and all of the cupboards were labeled which was helpful. It is in a very quiet neighborhood which is great if you have little ones. The home was immaculate. Also, the owners had a tower of pies delivered to the home the second day we were there....what a nice gesture!"

"The large open top floor - pool area - theater room - and that all second floor bedrooms face ocean."

Aaron   ·  Stayed April 2022

"- This house has every bedroom on the ocean side of the house. That means that 6 of the 9 bedrooms have ocean view, with four of those direct access to the balcony. That meant a lot to us when searching for homes. - Kitchen was great: - Two dishwashers was a must, and both dishwashers worked well. - Two garbage disposals was also nice to have. - Two large refrigerator/freezers were also a must and worked well - Kitchen has plenty of dishes, pots, pans, storage containers. - An entire drawer of knives - And another drawer full of silverware - Pantry + 2 refrigerators gave us plenty of space for our groceries - Nice touch to send xmas card, and nicer touch to send us three excellent pies - window shutters over the dining nook table was very useful in evening to guard from the intense evening sun. - We liked having the pool table, the corn hole set, the heated swimming pool, the cabana, the ocean access, the shower faucet to clean off sand just outside the pool area, all of the patios, the home layout, the movie room, all of the master baths, laundry room, space. Sofas were comfortable, and we found the sofa set up in the movie room to be comfortable and worked well. This house really had everything we needed. - It was on the cool side while we were there, highs mostly in the 60s and low 70s. We were pleased with how well the pool was heated since we were warned that it might not be that warm if temperatures are only in the 60s. - As any huge house would have, we had a few of minor issues that we reported to Twiddy. Since none were emergencies, we hoped Twiddy would get to it in a couple of days. They got to it within a couple of hours -- and got everything fixed, including the A/C which needed to be recharged. We were impressed with Twiddy's responsiveness, and grateful for the quick fixes."

"I've been coming to the Outer Banks my entire life and we find a different home every year. (That's part of the fun!) Mariner's Return was one of the nicest OBX homes I've ever stayed in and our entire group of four families agreed. First, the owners sent us a New Year's card five months before our stay and had a "tower of pies" sent to us on our first weekend of vacation. The home is very well kept and clean. The beds are comfy and the bathrooms are beautiful. The kitchen is well stocked and the drawers and cabinets are all labeled, making it easy to find utensils and put them away. We loved the Tommy Bahama beach chairs! The welcome book provided us with all the information we needed to operate the technology in the house. My only complaint is that I wish all of the windows had screens. There are too many bugs at night to be able to open windows without screens. Also, many of the screen doors were off the tracks when we arrived. One of my favorite things about staying on the beach is having the windows/doors open and being able to listen to the ocean at night. Fixing this small issue would make this house perfect. Even though I enjoy the excitement of staying in a different house every year, I would strongly consider staying at Mariner's Lookout again. Here is an additional review for Twiddy customer service -- We had a couple issues at the beginning of our stay. There was no power to the hot tub due to a tripped breaker and we couldn't access the box because it was behind a locked door. It was very easy to contact Twiddy using their after hours texting service and a maintenance man came out to the house once the office opened the next morning. The house also ran out of propane and we weren't able to use the stove to make breakfast our second morning. There was also no heat to the pool. Even though it was early in the morning, we were able to contact Twiddy using the emergency line. Despite Twiddy not being sure we could get an emergency propane delivery that day, they worked hard to ensure it was taken care of and the gas company arrived within a few hours. Twiddy also offered to reimburse us for an additional costs we had incurred due to the loss of gas."

"Beautiful home with all the amenities anyone could want! Decor is a significant appeal of the house, but the layout and thoughtful touches put it over the top. Delightful vacation spot!"

Jon   ·  Stayed November 2020

"This place is absolutely beautiful... in a perfect OBX location... the home has everything you will need and one of the best stocked kitchens I have ever witnessed in 30 years of going to the northern banks. The bedrooms are perfect sized leaving a wide open and spacious living area and kitchen. Your first walkthrough will be the same as ours - WOW, this place is awesome."

"We booked this close to the deadline, and got very lucky it was available. This house hit all the marks. All the bedrooms were great, as advertised. The court on which the house sits connects to the bike path, which was great. Just south of the Harris Teeter's was a surprised convenience. The house was the tallest oceanfront home around, and it pushes just a little bit more towards the beach then the surrounding homes, further enhancing the great views. Short ride to Duck. Location, location, location. You pay for what you get. This house had some surprises: -The house is beautifully decorated-The top floor is very well done, as is the rest of the house. The kitchen layout is well served for those groups that mingle and congregate there. -Nice kitchenware and utensils for all the foodies on our group! Pans were great. Sounds trivial, but it was just another great detail. Also the Mariner's Lookout Mugs were cool. -Outdoor space-The screened in porch, just off the kitchen was used every night! Fits about 10-12, great place for late night drinks and music. -Pool area-plenty of space, and the outdoor bar was well used. -Furniture on the balconies was also very nice and sturdy, often overlooked in these homes. - 9 + bedrooms. The house is technically 9 bedrooms. However, across the hall from the master suite on the top floor was a small sitting room, with a sleeper sofa. A little extra space if you underestimated your head count. In summary, this house has it all. The owners didn't skimp on the details. I had only stayed in Pine island in the past, but our group would return here in a heartbeat. We had 6 couples (with kids), so the fact that every couple got their own King master en suite was fantastic. If there was a negative, there was no car port and somewhat limited storage for bikes, roof boxes, etc. But the driveway easily accommodated all 6 vehicles with room to spare. We loved our stay at Mariner's Lookout!"
