"The kitchen was well stocked. If you needed it, it was there! House was clean and well maintained. Views were wonderful for "2nd row". Nice to sit on the screened porch, and the upper deck is awesome! Easy walkway to to the beach. Beds were comfortable (something that's often lacking in other homes we've rented). Twiddy was very responsive to a few minor issues that we did have. The propane was low so we couldn't use the gas grill, so they brought us a grill to use. The icemaker wasn't putting out much ice, so they brought us ice trays (we looked at the store but didn't find any). Twiddy reps were so helpful and we truly appreciated that. I would rent this home again in a heartbeat!"

"Home is in a great location for us. It has everything you could think of to feel at home. Quality and quantity . . Deep kitchen sink, nice pots and pans, no scratches, and clean, pool furniture and deck furniture good quality and good shape, many, many place settings. Very nice place to stay. Can’t wait to go back. Management company is the best in the outer banks. Very communicative about what to expect and what is required, when check in is available. Great stay!"

"Well kept ample home perfectly close to the beach with lovely sight and sounds of diverse birds in the dunes and view of the ocean. On vacation and immediately felt at home. Nicely equipped kitchen with many amenities for morning smoothies, sharp knives for cooking and now reseasoned cast iron for cooking fishing day catch. Nice to have both beach and pool options. Recommend."

Nice sized rooms. 2 master suites with private-shared deck (no kids allowed :) Good location at end of street, not a lot of traffic. Quick walk to shared beach access. Pickleball court short walk away. Nice sized pool with bench/steps at both ends. Very nice to have 5+ good beach chairs/ umbrellas/ boogie boards, pool noodles supplied. Thank you!!"

"This was absolutely the best stocked house we have ever rented. Everything we needed was available. The owners truly thought out what visitors would require. Also the grill was in good shape and had plenty of gas, very important fro stress free grilling. The house is close to the beach, a very short walk and had terrific views over the dune of the ocean from many rooms and the decks. And its location next to an undeveloped tract of ocean front gave a feeling of privacy. And they have kept up the maintenance, so we had no issues. The heated pool was a plus and a fun place to gather. Also a short walk to a small grassy area around the tennis court allowed our dog a relaxing space to do his business and was easy to clean up after. Outdoor showers are a bonus and were clean and cobweb free. And less than a half mile to the grocery store (Harris Teeter) and a short drive to shopping at Timbuck II and Corolla. The only very minor downside was parking. Four cars fit easily but sit on a long drive. If someone wants out, you may have to move cars. No big deal, as all the other benefits are worth moving a few cars occasionally. Nice big dining area and relaxing great room. Would definitely stay here again. A big thank you to the owners for creating a terrific beach house and sharing it with us."

"First time stay at Nani Mahani II. Was not sure what to expect as Ocean Sands is an older development and our experience with smaller, older homes has not been the best. However, opening the door after our 12 hour road-trip from Ohio, we were pleasantly surprised at the quality and condition of this home. It is clearly apparent that the owners take pride in their home and strive to make their guest's stay as pleasant as possible. As 30+ year veterans of OBX vacation we were impressed with how well stocked the kitchen was in terms of plates, casserole dishes, pots/pans, etc. Never have we seen a home so thoughtfully prepared for guests. Beyond the physical aspects of the home, the location and beach access was perfect for our family with both outer decks offering unobstructed views of the ocean and dunes. We were even treated to a pair of deer on the dunes in the adjacent open area. We would definitely recommend Nani Mahani II to all as a quality vacation rental that will meet all of your needs. "Very lovely home overall. You just cannot beat the view and proximity to beach access. Owners are clearly investing in the property and keeping it well-maintained. Pool area was one of the nicest we’ve ever had at an OBX home. Really appreciated the umbrellas for shade and nice furniture. A few things that are by no means faults but just good to know if renting…bathroom on top level is not private to the king bedroom; plenty of beach chairs provided but they are the super low to the ground and armless kind which worked great for our young daughter but the adults and seniors had trouble with; grill is on ground level at the back of the home so not easy access to the kitchen, just be prepared with everything you need to save some trips up and down the stairs. This was a great home to enjoy our stay in Corolla this year! Thank you!"

"What a View!! The best part of this house is the view.. although oceanside from the two decks (Level 2 and 3) you can see the ocean clearly. (We saw dolphins almost every morning) Additionally, the house backs onto sand dunes & forest area, which we saw beautiful birds (Pelicans, small tropical birds, etc) and wild rabbits. While in the house we kept the screen doors open at all time hearing the birds chirping and waves crashing was amazing."

"Overall, this was probably the best smaller house I've stayed in. Layout of the house was well thought out. The kitchen was great and well-equipped. The views are incredible...you can watch the sunrise over the ocean from the top loft area. The only downside is the pool area is small, so if you're going with multiple families it may be challenging. It's also a challenging house if you have dogs. No real area to let them do their business. Despite those things, it is TRULY a diamond in the rough. With the bird sanctuary next to you, there's an opportunity to see dunes and the ocean throughout the house without paying oceanfront prices. It was a vacation home to remember... By day two I had already reserved for next year and I had strongly protested doing that in the past bc I liked the excitement of the new. I just know from many years there, I found a hidden treasure. Book while you can!"

"Overall, Nani Mahina II is a lovely home. The location is fantastic! Great views of expansive unspoiled dunes throughout, as well as more distant ocean views. Terrific kitchen, nice decks and small loft area with wetbar and its own deck with ocean views. Very nice pool area. Bedroom furniture appears to be new. We only had 4 guests, so it worked for us. However, the layout of the house results in a smaller than (OBX) normal great room. For example, the dining room table, while very attractive, only seats 8, while most past Twiddy places we have rented seat 10 or 12. There is no "kitchen" or card playing table, as many other homes offer. In terms of the bedrooms, the King bed master bedroom had no nightstands, which was a disadvantage, as most of us either keep eyeglasses or our phones there. There was plenty of space in that room for a chair (it's nice to have something to put things on), but there wasn't one. That would be an easy fix:) Not sure why they choose brown short shag carpeting for the house... would not have been my choice, but c'est la vie. Again, overall a lovely home in a superb location (and less than a mile from the Harris Teeter and Duck Donuts!) ENJOY!"

"I guess I will start about the past by mentioning the future. By the time my week had finished, I had put down a deposit down on next season. I have never done that before. The house is very comfortable and amazingly equipped. The kitchen had almost everything and usually in multiples. The view from the top deck is amazing and it is so peaceful being next to a bird sanctuary."

"This house was a perfect fit for our family of 10 and 2 fur babies. The location could not have been better for a house that isn't technically ocean front. The kitchen was very well equipped and had everything that we needed. The half bath and fridge on the ground level along with the two outdoor showers were great!"

"What a wonderful home! Great access to beach, although there are stairs and not accessible with a wagon, but access is directly across the street! The home has great amenities in the kitchen and home is clean. All bedrooms are spacious and beds are very comfortable. Our family would definitely recommend this home to other beach goers!"

"Our family thoroughly enjoyed our week at this house! The kitchen is probably the best equipped kitchen I have ever encountered in a rental home! The pool was great and the beach is close. There is plenty of room for a family to spread out. We had 7 people and two dogs and we never felt cramped. Loved the extra refrigerator in the laundry room; it was nice to have the extra space for sodas and other beverages. Plenty of beach chairs and an umbrella. We will happily stay in this house again!"

"Pros: Prime quiet location. Excellent ocean views fron inside house and all decks. Minimal steps from driveway to beach access. Outside propane grill is best ever in 15 OBX beach visits. Excellent heated new fresh water pool with good loungers, chairs, table/umbrella and privacy fence. New kitchen appliances. House has 2 refrigerators and wine cooler. Love the house top 1/2 level with deck view, wine fridge, wet bar, and pub-like feel. Great outdoor shower and foot faucet near lower entrance door. Cons: Overhang tree causes leaves into and around pool. I cleaned often. I always shoot baskets but basketball goal is bent downward and near driveway incline so ball can roll a far distance. Coordinated to use neighbors goal. House had more carpet than most houses I have stayed especially near kitchen, dining, and all hallways. Carpet throughout felt crunchy with strong cleaning odor when first arrived. Had to open windows and doors for a time. Older wood-framed gigantic whirlpool bathroom tub on 3rd level both good and bad. Can be hard to get in and out of depending on person."

"We really enjoyed our stay at Nani Mahina II. The proximity to the beach can’t be beat and the views of the sunrise AND sunsets are wonderful! Kitchen was well stocked and grocery store is right around the corner! Our only suggestion is the addition of some blinds/curtains. Not having any blinds or curtains other than in bedrooms was a little unsettling at night. But that was minor and did not stop us from pre-reserving for next year! Thank you!"
