Swim in for an unforgettable vacation at “Mermaid Shell!” Located semi-oceanfront, just one home back from the beach, this home offers views of the ocean. The home is luxuriously furnished and offers modern amenities for a memorable family vacation.
The great room on the top floor of the home features a wall of ocean-facing windows, which allow natural light to fill the entire room. An elevator assists with unloading luggage and groceries. The living area is comfortably furnished, offering the opportunity to watch TV or to simply spend time catching up with loved ones. A fireplace is available for use during cooler months of the year. The family chef will love preparing meals in the spacious kitchen, which features higher end stainless steel appliances, two ovens, wine fridge, and granite countertops. Kitchen countertop seating allows for a quick meal on the go, as well as a seat for any little ones that wish to help with meal preparation. The dining table nearby offers views of the ocean while you enjoy your meal. Step outside onto the spacious screened porch to dine alfresco, or to relax on the comfortable outdoor furniture with an afternoon beverage. The ocean-facing sun deck is the perfect place to relax with your morning coffee and listen to the waves roll in. There is one master bedroom with views of the ocean on the third floor, which includes a beautiful bathroom with heated floor and a soaking tub. A half bathroom completes the upper level of the home.
There are three additional master bedrooms on the second floor, each with a private bathroom. One of the bedrooms includes doors that open to the ocean facing wrap-around porch as well as a luxurious soaking tub. There is a den on the middle floor, which includes a TV as well as a wet bar with refrigerator and keurig. For those who need to check in with school or work, there is an office adjoined to the den on the second level.
The final master bedroom is located on the ground floor of the home and includes a private bathroom and heated floors in the corridor right outside of the bedroom. The remainder of the ground floor was designed for kicking back. Hang out and shoot the breeze at the bar, which includes a refrigerator, refrigerator drawer, wine fridge, and microwave. The comfortable sofa and TV over the fireplace nearby make this room the perfect retreat for watching the big game.
Venture outside for some fun in the sun. Play all day in the private pool. A portion of the patio is covered for those who prefer the shade. After nightfall, head outside to the hot tub for a restorative soak while gazing up at the stars in the dark sky. With a location in the Carolina Dunes subdivision, this home is a bike ride or quick drive from all that Duck Village has to offer. “Mermaid Shell” offers modern coastal comfort in a great Duck location, perfect for making OBX vacation memories!

"Home was great. Across from the beach on a dead end street. Yard was great with a big not small pool for everyone and hot tub. Look out at the ocean or at woods you don't have a house behind you looking at you. Plenty of space and room for all. Some of the Xers and Zers with us had to work and the little office onthe second floor was great. Also small coolers for drinks on every floor and a frig and bar in one of the basement rooms. Home was perfect for our needs. Also close to Duck, Nor Banks very convienient. Recommend it highly"

"My family enjoyed a wonderful week at Mermaid Shell. The house was very comfortable, the kitchen is well stocked with dishes, pot and pans, and all the tools needed for cooking inside and on the grill. The pool was used by the kids (11, 9, 8, and 7) and adults daily! We loved the shady lounge area next to the pool, which provided relief when we needed a break from the sun but still wanted to be outside. We also love the screened in porch, and were able to enjoy the afternoon breeze. The house itself is very comfortable and spacious, we would love to come back again. 😁"

Had features that other homes don’t - like the security alarm on the sliders going to the pool, the nice deck furniture, comfortable furniture, well stocked kitchen. Stereo speakers in pool area. All screens were in tack and the sliders worked well. Just the top level exterior doors to the screened in porch need to be fixed to stay closed. The home is well built and very quiet."
