Public boat ramps can be found at the following locations. Please be advised that certain communities do not allow boats or boat trailers to be parked in the vacation home’s driveway.
A public boat launch that accesses the Currituck Sound is located at the Carova Beach Park at Milepost 21, on 2100 Ocean Pearl Road. Due to shallow water, this ramp is suitable for small craft only.
A public boat ramp is located at Whalehead in Historic Corolla and is open from sunrise until dusk. Due to shallow water and grass, this ramp is suitable for small craft only.
A public boat launch is located at 4190 Bob Perry Road. There is parking available for up to 30 vehicles, as well as a picnic area and canal that leads out to open sound waters.
A public boat ramp is located off Bay Drive at 1301 Dock Street. This ramp features multiple docks and parking for up to 12 vehicles.
Across from Pirate's Cove Marina, on the western side of the Washington Baum Bridge, an NC Wildlife Resources Commission boat ramp is available to the public. Parking is available for up to 50 vehicles, and there are several pedestrian walkways for easy, boat-free fishing.
*Please note that some communities have restrictions on parking boat trailers at the home. Check with our office prior to your visit to see if boat trailers are permitted to be parked at your vacation home.
